In this fifty-eighth edition, which will be held on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 June, the flower artists of the Terziere will be inspired by the works that Pietro di Cristoforo Vannucci, known as “Perugino”, created in Città della Pieve, his hometown.

On the particular occasion of the celebrations for the five hundredth anniversary of the great Renaissance master.

On the night of 24 June, the people of the contrada will create the flowered paintings on sketches made by the Pievese artist Andrea Bittarello. From 17, the pupils of the primary classes of the Istituto Comprensivo “Pietro Vannucci” will inaugurate the works, realizing the sketches they have prepared for the particular occasion.

In the afternoon of Sunday 25 the collaboration with the Calvino Music High School is renewed, for which the students will perform in a special space in the center of the flowered street. The Infiorata show will be accompanied, as always, by a rich program of initiatives: market exhibition of handicraft products, workshops for children, “Città Fiorita” and “Vetrine in Fiore” competitions, an exhibition of coins and stamps relating to the Perugino of the private collection of Andrea Bittarello.

Also not to miss  the appointment with the good cuisine of the Barbacane Tavern and its delicacies also returns to the vegetable gardens of the Bishop. You can taste the typical dishes of the Maremma tradition: pinched snails, wild boar with tarragon, pici, tagliatelle, gnocchi and grilled meats. Finally, the appointment on 21 June with the XVII edition of “Il Gusto dei Fiori” is worth mentioning, a dinner based on essences and flowers
